Concurso de fotografía para resaltar los paisajes, fauna, flora y usos de nuestra biodiversidad

Since 2018, Arasarí Conservation and Research has been organizing an annual photography contest, in order to highlight the landscapes, fauna, flora and uses of our biodiversity , through the eyes of students from rural and urban educational institutions in Colombia . In 2018, the theme was “A recognition of the territory” , seeking to demonstrate the ecosystem and socio-cultural value that students perceived from the landscapes of their territory and their daily environments.

The photographs of the sixteen participating students will be presented below, taken from six departments in Colombia. In the case of the four winners, we will present the texts that accompany each of their photographs.

WINNERS IN THE CATEGORY "ECOLOGICAL VALUE AND IMPORTANCE"
First place: "The fascinating thing about the world lies in its magic"

Karla Mishell Montoya Ibáñez, Cafam Bellavista District Educational Institution, Bogotá DC, Cundinamarca.

Primer puesto: “Lo fascinante del mundo radica en su magia” Karla Mishell Montoya Ibáñez

“Man is an imperceptible part of the infinite universe, but by joining with others he can achieve great changes. But the human being has many times stopped caring about what is truly important, since he is blinded by technology, which makes him believe himself superior, without knowing that he is destroying himself, creating a dependency that makes him forget that he does not have the need to create so many things on which it becomes dependent, because the universe offers something beyond technology.

With the emergence of rational thinking, progress has been astonishing. What for those primitive men were enigmas, we observe today with conscience and knowledge.

But is that, evolve, get closer, relate? If so, why do we destroy ourselves so easily? Evolve, achieve purity of the soul, seek wisdom and knowledge, will make a better world.

Living, even for a single moment, is the highest duty and mission that we must fulfill. "
